The LoC

While in DC for ALA,
I had the privilege of visiting
the Library of Congress
for an open house in
several of their reading rooms.

I loved seeing the Special Collections
(no photos allowed),
the rare children's books,
and a few others.

Then the main
Reading Room was opened
just for us librarian-types
after hours, free to roam
around with our cameras in tow.

So cool.

The conveyor belt that helps get material
from the closed stacks to the readers.

After my LoC visit I took
a stroll across the street
to enjoy the view of
the Capitol.
