Teva Mountain Games

At the beginning of June
Z had a chance to run in the
Teva Mountain Games.

He did the Vail Pass Half,
which consists of a near-3,000 foot
elevation gain in 13.8 miles.

Sounds fun, right?

While he ran up a giant mountain,
I took in some of the other events.

The most fun, of course, is Dock Dogs.

See more jumping canines here.

Happy Father's Day

Z and I want to send a little shout out to both of our fathers.

You are both so wonderful, and we love you much!

Thanks for all your guidance in everything from big life decisions to DIY house projects; you're the best!

Happy Father's Day!!

Bolder Boulder

We got back from Washington
just in time for Memorial Day,
which in Boulder,
means Bolder Boulder day.

It's a 10k with about 55,000 people
that ends at Folsom Field.

The evening before, Z
did a Blessing of the Shoes.

This was the view just off the starting area.

Here come the leaders early in the race.
(The guys in the red/white singlets are on Z's team.)

This is the view of the A Wave (the first runners out)
just past the finish line.
Notice that the stadium is pretty much empty.

This elite teams race last,
and they arrive to a very full stadium.

Tide Pool Fun

When the sun came out
during our trip,
we took full advantage & went out to
Salt Creek
at low tide.

It was so beautiful,
and we helped the boys find all
sorts of creatures
in all the tide pools.

Hoh Rainforest

One day Z & I drove over to the
gorgeous
Hoh Rainforest.

While Z took a long run
through this temperate rainforest,
I hiked the trails and took
photo after photo.

I've never been so content to
walk in the rain...
these photos can't begin to
do justice to the scenery...
and the elk herd we saw!

What little boys are made of

After we sampled Seattle's
delicious treats,
we headed over to my sister's house.

We loved playing with our precious
nephews, and were amazed by their energy.

These boys never stopped moving...

Except for a quick shot with their sweet mama.

Don't worry, though.
The big kids got in on the action, too!
