Last days in the Chi

Our last week or so in Chicago
was a bit overwhelming
to say the least.

It involved saying goodbye to
friends (who were also coworkers).

My final commute (& favorite sites along the way).

Dealing with this mess.

Eating delicious fresh whipped cream
& Bethany's strawberry pie.
(ok, that part wasn't so bad!)

Yes, it was THAT good!

One last hurrah with the neighbors after
loading up the truck.

A crazy half a day spent
catching up and then saying goodbye
all over again
with Matt & Chris,
including getting my folks from
Midway to drive out the next day.

We love & miss all our friends dearly.
Come see us!

In which we took a boat tour

One day in the not-too-distant past,
Z & I took a boat tour,
admiring Chicago's architecture
and the filming of the
latest Transformers movie.

Here's the evidence.

These next two pics are people
watching some movie magic
in the making.

Filming that day
involved the top of
the Trump Tower.
Fancy.

Chinatown

Before we left the Chi,
Z & I wanted to get
out in the city as much
as possible.

One weekend we headed to
Chinatown for a festival
& some yummy food.

Playing Catch Up

Z & I are finally
getting somewhat settled
in Bakersfield, CA
so I am starting
the blogging back up.

We are still in a small sea
of boxes, but we are
getting there.

After I finish several
posts from our last
weeks in Chicago,
our trip across the US,
and our NC visit,
I'll start posting about
life in Cali!
