Visitors!

We were very happy to have our
friends Josh & Tim stop by this week.

Z went to school with both of them in
Chicago, where Tim still lives.
He was in Cali to visit Josh in Long Beach
& lots of other folks, too!

We went to Moo Creamery for lunch
and then gave them the grand tour of
town, ending up at the bluffs overlooking
the oil fields.

Thanks for including us in your crazy Cali road trip/vacation,
Tim! We had a great afternoon with y'all!

Last days in the Chi

Our last week or so in Chicago
was a bit overwhelming
to say the least.

It involved saying goodbye to
friends (who were also coworkers).

My final commute (& favorite sites along the way).

Dealing with this mess.

Eating delicious fresh whipped cream
& Bethany's strawberry pie.
(ok, that part wasn't so bad!)

Yes, it was THAT good!

One last hurrah with the neighbors after
loading up the truck.

A crazy half a day spent
catching up and then saying goodbye
all over again
with Matt & Chris,
including getting my folks from
Midway to drive out the next day.

We love & miss all our friends dearly.
Come see us!

In which we took a boat tour

One day in the not-too-distant past,
Z & I took a boat tour,
admiring Chicago's architecture
and the filming of the
latest Transformers movie.

Here's the evidence.

These next two pics are people
watching some movie magic
in the making.

Filming that day
involved the top of
the Trump Tower.
Fancy.

And the winner is...

Mega points to Matt
for being the first to comment
on the Where's Waldo
pic from the previous post!

I saw him in the park
where he took a quick turn
and almost
disappeared into the crowd
before I got a picture.

Yes.

Meanwhile...

Z & I are pretty swamped
with packing and getting
ready to move to
California, so it has been
difficult to post much.

I have been taking photos, though.
Here is a rather random
assortment of the past weeks
since I got back from ALA.

My co-worker Alison is at the keyboard
for her awesome band
The Scotland Yard Gospel Choir.

Yay! Friend Jaime!

Chicago Sports

Not only did Z & I go to a
Fire game last weekend,
but we also went again on Wednesday
before they take their
World Cup break.

That same night the
Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup.
Parts of that game were played on the
screen during the Fire game,
and afterward, Chicago was crazy!

Yesterday, Z & Adam commuted with me
in the morning, only they headed over to
Daley Plaza where the World Cup
games are being broadcast.

But since the Blawkhawks won, there was
also a huge crowd (2 million)
in the Loop for a victory ticker tape parade,
so the guys got to see that, too!

Last, but certainly not least
(in this World Cup-crazed household),
Z & friends were up early watching matches,
and I met up with them after work
for the USA v. England match.

We had an awesome time and were happy with the draw!
